CES 2023: AMD’s Ryzen 7000 laptop CPUs include RDNA 3 graphics

AMD’s CES keynote address included plenty of exciting details for the new mobile graphics, but along with dedicated RDNA3 mobile GPUs, AMD also has a range of onboard graphics options to entice new laptop buyers. Throughout its new line of Ryzen 7000 mobile processors, AMD is taking advantage of all of its recent graphics architecture, including Vega and RDNA 2 on some of the top chips, as well as 12 RDNA 3 for some incredibly efficient mobile gaming Getting access to the core. ,

AMD has been complicating its mobile CPU naming scheme this generation, so it needed a detailed slide to break it down during its CES 2023 keynote. It also gave us a critical look at the GPU technologies in play, highlighting that with Vega still sticking to the Ryzen 7030 series processors – paired with the Gen 3 CPU core design – RDNA 2 will be more prevalent. In the Ryzen 7040 series, RDNA 3 will also be available along with AMD’s much talked about AI engine, which may come in handy for FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 3.0 in the future. Its more immediate uses are in AI-powered noise cancellation, webcam video improvements, and additional layers of system security.

Considering AMD only introduced its Ryzen 6000 mobile processor a year ago, and has had such success with it and RDNA 2 GPUs like the 680M, seeing it back as part of the Ryzen 7000 series might make sense. not surprisingly. However, in the Ryzen 7035, we see an advanced version of the Zen 3 architecture paired with 12 RDNA 2 cores, which is plenty for 1080p gaming, and will hopefully drive costs down over the more capable, but expensive new generation designs. Will help you keep it. ,

AMD showed off some performance numbers for these new CPUs running at a 28 watt power limit and delivering impressive gaming performance comparable to Intel’s best 12th Generation P-Series designs. In some cases, the integrated graphics were up to 181% faster than the Intel Core i7-1280P. In some titles, such as counter Strike Global Offensive, AMD’s lead was a more reasonable 27%.

Last-gen Vega’s performance isn’t terrible, either, with the Ryzen 7030 Series reportedly making great strides even against Intel’s 12th-generation mobile CPUs in gaming. AMD claims 69% lead League of Legends, but lost a measly 3% Dota 2.

AMD promised that some of the first Ryzen 7000 laptops would start shipping in February this year, so if you’re looking to do some onboard gaming with the new processor, you won’t have long to wait.
